An accomplished California educator and educational administrator, Steve Betando holds a bachelor of arts in psychology with a minor in special education from San Jose State University and a master of arts in education, administration, and supervision from California State University Stanislaus. Steve Betando has also completed graduate work at the University of the Pacific and taught other educators as a course instructor, public speaker, and leadership consultant.

After embarking on his career as a classroom teacher, Steve Betando moved into administration as an administrative intern and then a summer school principal with the Salida Union School District. After serving a range of administrative roles in several school districts in Southern California, he joined the Morgan Hill Unified School District (USD) as an interim assistant superintendent.

For the past eight years, Mr. Betando has led Morgan Hill USD as its superintendent in charge. His administrative approach stresses safety, inclusion, equality, and quality instruction.
